The German Minister for Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, opened the national conference on IT Security, „Selbstbestimmt und sicher in der digitalen Welt” [Self-determined and confident in the digital world] at Café Moskau in Berlin. In lectures and workshops leading researchers presented their work in the field of IT security and data privacy and showed solutions for making everyday life in cyberspace more secure.
To complement this event, Archimedes Exhibitions has designed and produced an exhibition that provides additional access levels to the subject. Spanning six different subject areas on about 300 sqm, the exhibition raises awareness for the relevance of IT security in various everyday contexts and familiar situations. For instance, visitors can find out about potential threats that arise when surfing the web, chatting or shopping online. Via interactive exhibits and in dialogue with experts of the field, the attendees can learn about the basic principles of cryptography, the production processes of a smart factory, the value of personal data, and many other topics.
